Kim Felder

Picture
Kim Felder is an expert trainer on a range of adoption issues for both professionals and youth on the need to create permanency through youth engagement and family finding. She is a senior recruiter with the Wendy’s Wonderful Kids program in Los Angeles. Child-specific recruitment and preparation of youth for permanency is her dream job, giving her the opportunity to engage with each child and guide their new families to success.

Kim and her husband have eight children, two biological and six adopted from foster care. Kim was honored as an Angel in Adoption in 2009 by the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute. She also has received a commendation from the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors for her dedication to children in the child welfare system. She frequently trains child welfare workers in Los Angeles through the county’s staff training program at UCLA.

Consulting Areas

Kim is available to train or consult on family finding, engaging youth in the permanency process, family recruitment for high-needs children and youth, parenting education that includes the importance of a sense of humor and empathy, and training foster and/or adopted youth to understand, create and share their personal stories with confidence.
